 Olivia is the Co-Founder and Director of HazardProof, working alongside Chris to assist with all non-engineering aspects. Since 2017, Olivia has built a career in marketing, previously contributing to the growth and global expansion in the mining, tunnelling, and industrial sectors.

With a strong passion for data and analytics, Olivia is currently pursuing a Master of Data Science to further enhance her ability to drive business strategy and innovation through data-driven insights. Olivia is excited to integrate data science and analytics into the business to drive smarter business outcomes and innovation.

Chris Mapleson, better known to many as "Mapo," is our Co-Founder and Chief Operations Officer. Mapo brings nearly two decades of hands-on experience in metalliferous and underground coal mining. Throughout his career, Chris has excelled in various roles, including electrical supervision, engineering management, hazardous areas electrical work (EEHA), and project management. Chris also holds an ESO accreditation as a Hazardous Area Auditor. 

Chris takes the lead in understanding and addressing client needs, using his vast expertise to craft tailored solutions. With a personable approach and firsthand knowledge from working on the client side, he now provides the insights and support engineers, sites, and businesses need to thrive.

Luke is a highly experienced Senior Electrical Engineer, with over 20 years of professional engineering experience. He graduated with a Bachelor of Electrical Engineering (Honours) and is a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ). Luke's expertise spans across project management, construction and commissioning coordination, electrical HV/LV/Control design, hazardous area classification and design, PLC programming, and HV/LV power systems analysis. His career includes significant contributions to the airfield, gas, coal, iron ore, and intelligent transport system industries.  He is highly regarded for his ability to manage projects from scoping to completion, ensuring quality and efficiency.

Dean brings over 15 years of underground mining and electrical experience to HazardProof, including leadership roles as an Electrical Coordinator and a focus on operational improvement. Holding his Queensland Electrical Engineering Manager (EEM) ticket and an MBA in Managing and Leading People, he combines hands-on expertise with a passion for safety, efficiency, and smarter systems.

With experience across major mining companies like Anglo American, Rio Tinto, and Glencore, Dean has led teams, implemented technology-driven solutions, and delivered projects that strengthen compliance and performance.

Beyond his professional skills, Dean’s connection to HazardProof runs deeper - he’s been a lifelong friend of Chris Mapleson since primary school, bringing trust, loyalty, and teamwork to everything he does.
